Vice President Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign has received a significant boost from a coalition of Black men who raised over $1.3 million in less than four hours. The WinWithBlackMen initiative, comprising influential Black male leaders from various sectors, organized this unprecedented fundraising effort to support Harris’s bid for the presidency. The organization is a movement dedicated to empowering and uplifting black men, and creating a community of support, positivity, and providing  black men with resources.

The virtual gathering was organized in just under 12 hours, by Khalil Thompson, Exec Dir WinwithBlackMen, Michael Blake CEO Kairos Democracy Project, Quentin James Pres. Collective PAC and hosted by Roland Martin, attracted about 17,000 donors that donated over $1.3 million, demonstrating the strong momentum behind Harris’s campaign, the enthusiasm and commitment of the Black community in shaping America’s political future.

On the call the coalition emphasized the importance of supporting grassroots Black male organizations working on the ground. A portion of the funds raised will go towards these local groups to ensure they have the resources needed to mobilize voters and increase turnout in their communities.

Organizers stressed the urgency of collective action in the 106 days leading up to the election, urging supporters to stay engaged and proactive. They highlighted the unprecedented nature of this fundraising effort and its potential impact on the campaign.

The event also addressed the unique challenges facing Harris as a candidate, including the need to combat racism, sexism, and classism. Speakers emphasized Harris’s impressive track record and her agenda on issues such as medical debt and childcare.

This powerful show of support from Black male leaders could prove pi“votal in the 2024 presidential race. It not only provides financial backing for Harris’s campaign but also sends a strong message about unity, representation, and the determination to overcome historical barriers in American politics.

The WinWithBlackMen initiative follows a similar effort by Black women, who raised over $1.5 million for Harris’s campaign during a Zoom call that attracted 44,000 participants. These combined efforts underscore the critical role that Black voters, both men and women, are playing in shaping the upcoming election and their strong support for Vice President Harris.

As the campaign continues to build momentum, organizers are planning more events and initiatives to engage and mobilize Black voters. This historic fundraising achievement demonstrates the power of collective action and the vital role that the Black community plays in shaping the future of American politics.
