Media mogul Oprah Winfrey is set to host “Unite for America,” a live-streamed event on September 19 at 8 p.m. ET. The free event will broadcast across major social media platforms, bringing together diverse voter groups to discuss their Harris choice, the election’s significance, and the importance of voting. Alongside the virtual audience, 400 local voters will participate in person, creating a unique blend of digital and physical presence.

Jotaka Eaddy, founder of Win with Black Women, emphasized that, “This ‘Unite for America’ call will be a powerful moment that demonstrates the urgency that we all feel in this moment and more importantly the impact of our collective activation to move our nation forward with Vice President Kamala Harris as our 47th President.

She also added that she could not think of a better person to host the event than “Oprah Winfrey, who has brought Americans of different generations, backgrounds, and experiences together in conversation for decades.”

This national call emerged from an unprecedented wave of enthusiasm following Harris’s campaign announcement in July. Win With Black Women’s initial outreach drew 90,000 participants, inspiring a proliferation of support groups across various demographics. From “White Dudes for Harris” to “Swifties for Kamala,” these grassroots movements reflect a broad, inclusive base of support.

The initiative has already demonstrated its fundraising prowess, with Win With Black Women’s initial call generating $1.5 million in three hours. To date, over 140 supporting groups have collectively raised more than $20 million.

Other organizers, representing groups such as Win With Black Men, White Women: Answer the Call, Cat Ladies for Kamala, Latinas for Harris, White Dudes for Harris, and South Asians for Harris, highlighted the event’s diversity and its potential to mobilize voters across various communities.

Pastor Mike McBride of Win With the Black Church called the gathering a symbol of renewed hope, underscoring a shared commitment to justice, equity, and community improvement.

With the first debate between VP Harris and former President Trump later today, September 10, and as election tension builds, the “Unite for America” with Oprah Winfrey event is in a pivotal moment to galvanize support and energize voters for the Kamala Harris campaign.
