In Final Push to Election Day, Kamala Harris Lauds Win With Black Women’s Grassroots Efforts

Vice President Kamala Harris connected with tens of thousands of supporters on Win With Black Women pre-election Zoom call to express her gratitude for their commitment and efforts to mobilize Black women across the country ahead of the presidential elections. Speaking after a long day of campaigning in multiple states, Harris emphasized the importance of the sisterhood and grassroots efforts that were fueling the final push to the polls.

Harris specifically thanked Win With Black Women for being a consistent and reliable ally over the past four years. She praised the coalition’s ability to rapidly organize weekly calls that united tens of thousands of Black women nationwide in support of Harris and the broader campaign. Harris credited the group with inspiring similar efforts across the country.

“At the heart of our coalition-building is our core understanding that we all have so much more in common than what separates us—that we are all in this together,” she noted. “We are driven by our faith to live a life of service, whether through public office or other ways.” Harris said.

The Vice President highlighted the central role played by Win With Black Women leaders like Jotaka Eaddy in organizing and uniting the community.

“I am so thankful because you were the catalyst,” Harris said, commending the coalition for its leadership and inspiring effect on other groups. According to Harris, the coalition’s quick mobilization motivated others across the country to organize similar efforts. Leaders like Jotaka Eaddy and Minyon Moore, who have played central roles in organizing Win With Black Women, received special mention as Harris reflected on the strength and unity within the community.

Harris underscored the shared mission of the coalition, noting their common understanding that “we all have so much more in common than what separates us—that we are all in this together”. Harris went on to applaud coalition members for their hard work on the ground. She described seeing supporters canvassing, calling, and texting voters in the weeks leading up to Election Day. Harris shared a story about a recent visit to Michigan State University in East Lansing, where she was heartened to see “energized young people” and a diverse, multigenerational crowd united in their commitment to a “new generation of leadership”.

Harris encouraged supporters to keep reaching out to friends and family, stressing the importance of continuing to mobilize voters through Facebook groups, family chats, and any other available channels to ensure a strong turnout.

On July 21st Win With Black Women organized a zoom call that drew over 44,000 supporters and an additional 50,000 online viewers raising $1.5 million in just three hours. The coalition has played a key role in supporting Vice President Kamala Harris’ political campaigns, engaging in robust fundraising, voter mobilization, and event organization. Win With Black Women inspired a wave of similar efforts including Win With Black Men, White Women: Answer the Call, White Dudes for Harris and Swifties for Kamala resulting in a network of 140 supporting groups that raised over $20 million collectively.
