In an effort to promote sustainable practices and reduce electronic waste, Reverse Logistics Group (RLG), in collaboration with major electronics manufacturers including Acer, Canon, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft, Samsung, and VTech, is launching a series of 32 free consumer electronics recycling events across all eight wards of the District in 2024.
This week, residents of Ward 7 can take advantage of this initiative when RLG sets up for a recycling collection on Saturday, October 19, from 10 AM to 2 PM. The collection vehicle will be stationed next to the Kenilworth Recreation Center Farmer’s Market on Ord Street NE, providing a convenient location for residents to drop off their unwanted electronic devices.
RLG, an advocate for eco-friendly disposal of electronic products, has partnered with the District of Columbia’s Department of Energy and Environment to facilitate the collection. The event aims to make it easy for residents, small businesses, and non-profits to responsibly recycle their old electronics.
“We’re excited to bring this recycling opportunity to the community,” said Andriana Kontovrakis, RLG’s Director of Compliance Services. “Every device recycled is a step towards reducing landfill waste and promoting a healthier environment. We encourage everyone to participate.”
The event will accept a wide range of electronic items, including computers, tablets, monitors, TVs, printers, gaming consoles, and cell phones. RLG’s recycling practices are e-Steward certified, ensuring that all collected devices are processed in an environmentally responsible manner.
Participants are reminded to bring items in their current condition; RLG will handle the rest. To ensure effective recycling, RLG has provided a comprehensive list of accepted items.
In addition to the recycling event, RLG invites community members to help spread the word. Interested parties can contact info.us@rev-log.com for digital materials to promote the initiative further.
This recycling journey with Reverse Logistics Group stands committed to making e-waste recycling accessible and effective, paving the way for a greener future in Washington, DC.
