These DC Streets Are Celebrating ‘Art All Night’

On September 27 and 28, these streets will celebrate Art All Might, an event in the 202Creates festival for celebrating the creative community

On August 29, the Mayor Muriel Bowser administration announced the 2024 launch of the annual 202Creates festival that celebrates the DC creative community.

The month-long festival has a series of events lined up with a key one being the Art All Night event that will take place from September 27 to 28.

The free event–organized as a collaboration between the DC Department of Small and Local Business Development. (DSLBD), DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities, the DC Public Library, DC Main Streets programs, and Business Improvement Districts–will be held on several streets running from 7:00 pm to 3:00 am on both days.

On Friday, September 27, these streets will host the event: Barrack Row Main Street, Cleveland Park Main Street, Eastern Market Main Street, Georgetown Main Street, Minnesota Avenue Main Street, Glover Park Main Street, Mount Pleasant Main Street, Pennsylvania Avenue East Main Street, Petworth Main Street, Rhode Island Avenue Main Street, Upper Bladensburg Rd Main Street, Uptown Main Street.

On Saturday, September 28 will happen on other streets including Congress Heights Main Street, Dupont Circle Main Street, H St Main Street, Logan Circle Main Street, Lower Georgia Ave Main Street, The Parks Main Street,
Shaw Main Street, Tenleytown Main Street, U St Main Street,

In a recent statement, Mayor Muriel Bowser urged residents and visitors to immerse themselves in the vibrant creativity of the capital at Art All Night 2024.

“Art All Night is one of DC’s most electric events of the year. It showcases our unique creativity, culture, and small businesses, and this year, we’re expanding to include even more local talent and innovative programming,” she said.

A key feature of the event will be a large block party at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library, celebrating local talent with live Go-Go music, food trucks, and artistic showcases..

Art All Night is complemented by Dine All Night, which runs through October 1. This campaign extends hours for participating restaurants to boost foot traffic and support local businesses.

DSLBD Director Rosemary Suggs-Evans praised both events. “Art All Night and Dine All Night provide an incredible platform for our entrepreneurs to shine and grow. It’s a powerful opportunity for small businesses to engage with new audiences and for us to support DC’s creative economy,” she said.
