Recentlly, Hyper Kids Africa, a group of kids from Uganda, met and performed with big acts in the black African music and movies scenes including Akon, Kevin Hart, and Grammy-award winner, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy.
The Ugandan Hyper Kids, also known as Hypers Kids Africa, are a vibrant dance and acrobatics group based in Kampala, Uganda. Founded in 2013 by Moses Butindo, a former football player who shifted his focus to helping street children after a leg injury, the group started with just three members and has since expanded significantly. Butindo envisioned a safe environment where disadvantaged children could develop their talents through dance and performance.
Why was the Hyper Kids formed?
While recovering from his injury, Moses Butindo was inspired by the struggles of street children and sought to support them through dance. Initially, the group was created to offer entertainment and foster a sense of community. They quickly gained recognition for their energetic performances that combine traditional Ugandan dance with contemporary styles.
The Hyper Kids aim to empower children from underprivileged backgrounds, providing them with opportunities for education and personal growth through the arts. They gained significant attention during their participation in America’s Got Talent Season 19 and have since graced many big stages.
The Hyper Kids have made impressive strides in their journey to fame. Another landmark moment came on Thursday, October 24, when they performed alongside Akon in Los Angeles, showcasing their talents on an international stage and paving the way for future collaborations with prominent artists.
Additionally, they had the chance to meet Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy during his visit to the U.S. They delighted him and his audience by singing his hit song “City Boy,” a moment that garnered attention on social media and highlighted the group’s infectious energy and talent.
