According to Chart Data, the song has passed other major hits, including Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” and Benson Boone’s “Beautiful Things,” to secure its position as the best-selling song in America this year.

“Tispy” has also made waves on the Billboard Hot 100, where it has spent an impressive seven weeks at the number one spot, surpassing previous record-holders such as Post Malone and Morgan Wallen’s “I Had Some Help.” This achievement marks “Tipsy” as the longest-running number one single of 2024 on the Hot 100.

In July, Shaboozey, whose full name is Collins Obinna Chibueze, made history by becoming one of only two Black artists to top both the Hot 100 and Hot Country Songs charts simultaneously, joining Beyoncé in this exclusive club.

His single “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” also recently replaced Beyoncé’s “Texas Hold ‘Em” as the number one song on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart. This succession marks a historic moment as it is the first time two Black artists have led the chart back-to-back.

Shaboozey’s collaboration with Beyoncé on the Cowboy Cater album has been a pivotal experience, with him saying in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that it was life-changing.
