The poll provides critical insights into the political preferences of African diaspora voters in Maryland, with Democrat Angela Alsobrooks leading Republican Larry Hogan by a substantial margin.

The poll, conducted online, surveyed Maryland voters of African diaspora backgrounds, including Nigerian, Cameroonian, Liberian, and African American communities. The analysis highlights the strong support Alsobrooks enjoys across most demographics, particularly women, older voters, and liberals. However, Hogan shows surprising strength among younger voters, moderates, and African American respondents, suggesting that the race may become competitive as the election approaches.

  • Age Groups: Support for Alsobrooks increases with age, peaking at X% among voters aged 65-74. In contrast, younger voters (25-34) show more support for Hogan or remain undecided.
  • Gender: Both male and female voters favor Alsobrooks, though Hogan has a slightly higher share of support among women (X%) compared to men (X%).
  • Diaspora Background: While African American voters are evenly split between Alsobrooks and Hogan, Alsobrooks leads among Cameroonian, Liberian, and Nigerian voters.

TANTV’s poll also reveals that political views are a strong determinant of candidate preference. Liberals overwhelmingly support Alsobrooks (100%), while conservatives are firmly behind Hogan. Moderates are split, with a slight edge going to Alsobrooks.
