A man has died in a stabbing incident at a Safeway in Glover Park on July 17. The altercation that led to his death occurred in the store’s parking lot at about 12:30 pm
This comes on the same day Pamela Smith marked one year in office as the Chief of the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD).
Around noon, the Police received an urgent call reporting a stabbing at the Safeway located on the 1800 block of Wisconsin Avenue Northwest. Responding officers quickly arrived at the scene, where they found evidence of a violent confrontation in the store’s parking garage. However, the involved parties were nowhere to be found.
Investigation revealed that both men somehow managed to transport themselves to MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, situated about a mile from the incident site. However, one of the men died from the stab wounds shortly after arrival. The other individual is currently receiving treatment and is expected to survive, according to hospital officials.
