Legendary Hollywood Actor Dick Van Dyke was involved in a car crash earlier this morning on March 22, after he lost control of his car and crashed into a gate. Dyke said he lost control of the wheel while driving over the wet roads in Malibu California, recently drenched by a rain shower. Despite being found bruised and bloodied, he seems to have only sustained “Minor” injuries according to the police. He was treated by medics that arrived at the scene and then he was brought home by a friend of his once cleared.
Police have stated that anything involving Alcohol and Drugs are not suspected to be involved in the incident. However, they have turned the report documents into the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to have him retake his driving test, the 97-year-old actor is close to reaching “Centenarian” age which is someone who lives to be 100 or older.
Dyke’s Hollywood career peaked back in the 1960s when he starred various different films/theater productions such as “Bye Bye Birdie, Mary Poppins, and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” along with his own show “The Dick Van Dyke Show”. However, he recently made a comeback to the stage by appearing as one of the secret contestants on the Masked Singer. He was one of the first reveals of the shows latest season, season 9.
Despite this incident, this has not been the first time that the actor has found himself in a dangerous situation. Back in 2013 he was rescued and safely removed from a burning car on the California Freeway. Despite the severity of a burning car, he managed to not sustain any serious injuries. Even further back in 2010, he found himself drifted out to sea after he had fallen asleep on his surfboard. The then 84-year-old actor said he managed to be pushed closer to shore thank to the help of a friendly group of porpoises that found him.
