Ghanaian Independence Day is held on March 6th, celebrating the independence of Ghana from the United Kingdom in 1957. After less than 70 years of independence, the celebrations are held all over the globe with food, flags, and music. With this now being the 67th year, we have gathered a handful of events being held to enjoy this meaningful holiday.
New York City has two celebrations being held over the weekend. Ghana’s Independence Day Celebration, takes place from March 6th to the 10th, and is free to attend. This event is held late in the day until after midnight.

Continuing through the East Coast in Massachusetts, the GAGB 67th Ghana Independence Day Celebration is held in Dedham, MA. While tickets are up to $50 for general admission, students and youth get a decent discount, with children under 11 getting free admission.

Ghanaian Independence is going global, with Brunswick, Australia, holding a Dinner & Music Night on Sunday, March 10th at 7:30 pm. This event will last until midnight, with adult tickets costing 55 AUD, and 35 AUD for children under 10 years old.
