The Coalition for Inclusive Schools and Communities is hosting a Back to School Block Party this Friday at Veterans Plaza in Silver Spring, MD from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Music and vibes will be provided by DJ Confetti and Jay Diamondz. While there make sure to take advantage of the free school supplies and health screenings. Children and teens will have a blast with outdoor games, crafts, and much more. Auntie Connie’s Creative Kidz is throwing a Back to School event on September 9 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at 31 Norwood Road in Silver Spring, MD. There will be crafts, snacks, theatre performances, and much more. This event is intended for children ages 4 to 10. Space is limited and tickets start at 30 dollars.

On September 15 Touchstone Gallery is hosting a Back to School Night from 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. Attendees will have a chance to party with a live DJ and explore artist Tory Cowles’s new exhibit Weaving and Musings. Light refreshments will be provided and guests have the opportunity to take home one-of-a-kind screen prints. This event is intended for ages 18-25 and tickets start at 7 dollars.
The DC Public School System is throwing a Back to School Block Party at McKinley Technology High School on September 23 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. This event is targeted towards students, families, teachers, school administrators, and community members in hopes of preparing everyone for a successful school year. Community and District Government agencies will provide health and wellness screenings as well as college and career readiness sessions. There will be free food and fun activities such as face painting, arts and crafts, and even student performances. You do not want to miss this free event.
