Earlier today, Curtis Jackson, popularly known as 50 Cent, visited Capitol Hill as part of his advocacy for Black entrepreneurs and to increase their representation in the luxury spirits industry. He made the visit alongside civil rights attorney Ben Crump.
During his address, 50 Cent expressed optimism about the future, stating, “The response I got makes me feel like there are bright days ahead of us.” The rapper’s visit aimed to discuss economic opportunities for Black entrepreneurs and to push for more representation within the liquor industry.
Ben Crump echoed this excitement in a statement, saying, “I am pleased to join the legal team representing Curtis ‘50 Cent’ Jackson, as he is one of the most successful Black entrepreneurs in America. We’re here today to talk about how he’s trying to knock down barriers of equal access and equal opportunity to have a seat at the table in all industries.”
Referring to the rapper’s liquor company’s legal battle, Sire Spirits v. Suntory Global Spirits, Crump added, “He has been relentless in his fight to seek fairness and justice over the way he was treated by a corporate giant in the luxury spirits industry.”
50 Cent’s visit to Capitol Hill underscores his commitment to advocating for Black entrepreneurship and addressing the challenges faced by Black-owned businesses in various industries.
